Enhanced Access Service
The Gardens Surgery is a member of our local Primary Care Network and GP Federation, we are called Improving Health Limited.
By working with our neighbouring practices we provide excellent, proactive and coordinated care consistently and equitably to everyone living in South Southwark.
One of the benefits of working as a network is that all of our patients have access to GP appointments from 8am to 8pm 365 days per year at Tessa Jowell Health Centre.
This is not a walk-in service. An appointment can be booked at this service by a clinician at your practice if it is right for you. For some patients, for instance, those with more complex needs, it is more suitable to be seen at your own practice. You would also need to agree to share your medical records with the hub on arrival. Ask at the practice for more information.

Please call the surgery at 0208 693 4715. Phone lines are open until 6:30pm.
Extended Hours Service Opening Times
- Monday: 6:30pm to 8pm

Life Threatening
Call 999 or go to A&E now if:
- you or someone you know needs immediate help
- you have seriously harmed yourself – for example, by taking a drug overdose
A mental health emergency should be taken as seriously as a medical emergency.
Urgent But Not Life Threatening
Visit an urgent care centre if:
- You have an urgent medical issue requiring on the day attention
Non-urgent
Use NHS 111 if:
- You need help now, but it’s not an emergency
There will be someone to provide you with advice and to direct you to a clinician if it is necessary.
About Us
Contact the Surgery
Non-medical or administrative queries, cancel an appointment and feedback or complaints.
Disability Access
The Gardens Surgery building has been designed for disabled access. There is a Disabled bay outside the Surgery if you have a valid permit.
We would ask that you let us know if you need help as your disability may not be a visible one.
We would also welcome any suggestions you may have in making your visit to the surgery easier.
Find Your NHS Number
Your NHS number is a 10 digit number, like 485 777 3456. You do not need to know your NHS number to use NHS services, but it can be useful to have it.
Self-Care / Self-Referal Services
Help and support from national and local organisations and assessments to help you monitor your condition.
Find Local and National Support Services:
- You need advice and are looking for support services for your condition.
- Your Clinician has asked you to complete an online assessment or form.
- You would like to self-refer yourself to other services directly.
Join the Patient Participation Group
If you are a patient registered at the practice, with a positive contribution to make, please join the group.
The Practice strives to provide excellent healthcare. We welcome constructive feedback and suggestions to help shape our services to serve the needs of all of our patients. Our Patient Participation Group meets to provide a forum for discussion about the practice.
For more information, please see our Patient Participation Group page.
Friends & Family Test
We welcome feedback to tell us what we are doing right and what we can improve.
